CR: American Horror Story

Occasionally I don't watch scary or horror movies.  The only time I do watch a scary movie is if it's a classic franchise like Halloween, Scream, Nightmare on Elm Street, or Friday the 13th.  Movies involving paranormal activity or an exorcism always scares me because I believe in those things.  I never knew why American Horror Story is so talked about until now.  In my opinion, the show isn't scary at all and there's no jump scares.  What I like about the show is the story and how all the characters play a part in the major plot.  When you actually sit there and watch the show, the characters make you sink in and make you want to know whats going to happen next.  I might start watching the show for my own entertainment.  In class we had to see how can we analyze the episode "Anne Frank" using psychoanalysis.  We analyzed that some characters had repressed some information because the situation was too traumatic.  Overall I still think the show is good.

Free Choice: Last Year

Only a few more days left in school and it kind of bothers me.  It bothers me because I'm going to miss the majority of the people and all the friends I made these last four years.  I still remember the first day of school in 9th grade.  I didn't want to come to Thurgood Marshall at first because all my friends went to different schools.  I gave it a try to see how much I would like the school.  I remember I showed up late to my first period class and didn't know anyone.  Everyone just looked at me like they seen a ghost.  Lunch period I was sitting next to Sean Scott, the first person I met in TMA and now we are close friends.  I went from not knowing anyone to knowing my whole grade.  There were some students who left TMA and I wished they would've stayed so everyone who came in TMA could all leave together.  These four years have been a roller coaster but I made the best out of it.  I got a chance to meet great people and friends that would last a life time.  I'm going to miss everyone single person, I would love for everyone to plan something out for every Spring Break so we never lose contact.  Whether your graduating or not, seniors will always be class of 2015 in my eyes because we struggled to get where we are.  Finally I wish to all my peers reading this that they have fun in college, remember who you are and find happiness in the future regardless of what you want to do in life.

Transitioning to College

Lately I've been visiting Borough of Manhattan Community College a lot and I love the feeling.  I love the walk of going in the building, I love the atmosphere, and I love how friendly everyone is at BMCC.  The college is great and it's not that expensive so I will be getting a refund check.  The only concern I have is how much work will I be getting and time management.  Thankfully, I will be in the College Discovery program where I will have someone to help me along the way.  I love the motto "Start here, go anywhere."  I have a very low GPA so starting at BMCC will help me get a higher GPA and continue my education anywhere else.  I don't feel weird or awkward being around a bunch of new people.  I definitely don't have a problem talking to strangers.  I've already met a few people from the College Discovery information and orientation.  I know I will have a good freshman year at Borough of Manhattan Community College.

CRR: Essay

I usually have no problem writing essays in English class.  However, writing about a complicated text like William Shakespeare is very challenging.  My essay specifically compares feminism with two of Shakespeare's books, Othello and A Midsummer Night's Dream.  Finding evidence from A Midsummer Night's Dream is that complicated but finding evidence for Othello is.  I don't remember all the names that were used in Othello so I will have to find a way how to get a hold of the book to look for evidence.  I personally don't like the language of these texts because it's not modern and no one talks like that anymore.  I find it ridiculous how William Shakespeare is always taught all over the world and in the end, it doesn't benefit us in anyway.  The stories that Shakespeare writes are cliche.  Why read books in a language no one speaks, predictable, and difficult when I can read a book that has a deeper meaning, more modern, more interesting, and still gain knowledge.  This is just my general opinion with Shakespeare's work.

Class Related: Acting

I remember when I was young, I would go on casting rolls for commercials and I took a drama class.  Acting has always been something I'm good at and the fact that I can do it again for our English class is great.  I just don't really like the whole idea of William Shakespeare; I'm not a fan.  I'm considering performing at the theater but, then again, I don't like the language of William Shakespeare's work.  I don't mind being on stage and acting silly, I don't really get stage fright.  This project for our English class has made me remember what I've always been good so I will look for casting rolls during my free time for some extra cash.  I wish luck to any students that plan on performing or that get picked to perform.

Free choice: republicans and our society

This society has definitely changed over the years.  The way people think has changed dramatically.  Everything I hear nowadays is about ridiculous TV shows, materialistic items, and about making money.  People would talk about making money or that they have money or they're on the path of "success".  Honestly in my eyes, If your not making close to a six figure salary then your not "getting paper".  People want to make money but don't think about how or what steps to take or don't really know how too.  I have my plan, I have my goals, I know what I have to do in order to make close to a six figure salary and be able to get what I want when I'm ready for retirement.  People complain about being broke and do nothing about it.  Broke people spend money on things they want instead of  things they need.  People with money spend their money wisely and are thinking 4 steps ahead then broke people would.  Republicans are going to be in control of the U.S and everyone is complaining that things will be harder.  Republicans think about business and money and want to see the economy grow.  We live in a capitalist society, someone has to be on the top and someone on the bottom.  Democratics are struggling and want things to be equal but nothing is fair in life, nothing will be equal here.  The only way to survive in this society is to do what ever it takes to move up on the ladder.  Do I wish things were equal in this society?  Yes but nobody wants to be equal really, there's always someone who wants to be better than everyone else.  The problem people have with republicans and they don't realize is that republicans want to be different and be better then everyone else and they'll go for it.  Other people want to do the same but the question is are they going to try? Are they going to take a risk?  Because a republican will.

Free Write: Rush

Did you ever feel adrenaline running through your body?  A lot of the things I do gives me a rush feeling.  Ice skating, boxing, working out, and roller-coasters.  When I get older I want a Sport Bike.  Specifically a Yamaha R6.  It's a beautiful bike with an amazing engine.  I really want that bike and experience going 147 mph.  Yea its dangerous but I love doing things that give me a rush.  When I ice skate, I skate fast and do tricks.  I always come home from ice skating with some type of bruise or pain because I'm always near having an accident.  It's not my fault I just love having fun and living on the edge.
